The line, introduced at the 35th International Vienna Motor Symposium in early May 2014, includes diesel solenoid injectors, fuel pumps, engine control units and rails for light- and medium-duty applications

“This new high-performance, modular family of diesel common rail systems will help car manufacturers improve fuel efficiency,” says Delphi Diesel Systems president John Fuerst. “Our engineers’ innovative concepts are dedicated to assisting our customers in meeting increasingly strict emissions standards, while maintaining the performance levels consumers expect.”

Delphi’s modular approach ensures that OEMs do not have to modify their engines to fit Delphi systems, allowing for easy integration into engine families.

The new equipment offers, the supplier claims, an increase in injection pressure up to 2,500 bar, reduced leakage, and increased multiple injection optimization – up to nine injections per cycle. As a result, the new systems offer better injection control and better combustion, leading to reduced fuel consumption, CO2 and other emissions. The new family will also offer weight reduction, as well as increased hydraulic, mechanical and electrical efficiency. Cost-effectiveness and flexibility are also increased thanks to the simple, modular component features.
